Running Free is on a custom (**-inch x *3.*2) premium canvas (Matte). The matte is archival, meaning it is pH neutral. It comes unframed, so there is no glass either. This is a silouette reflecting the spirit of the Western United States. It is designed to reflect the open spaces found in the West. Horses let go by miners banned together into herds, and the sight of these wild horses running free still can be seen today. This piece makes a wonderful addition to a lodge, restaurant, hotel, motel, cabin, resort, home, or any other building where Western American art is desired. The original is in mixed media. The artist  starts with spray paint for the moon. The stars are created using small rocks purchased from fish aquariums, and spray painted to look like stars, once the tiny pebbles are removed. The artist then applies black acrylic paint, and paints by hand the scene of his choosing. In this case, having lived in Montana and Nevada, he chose a scene that he has seen many times in both places. The result is "Running Free."
